OBITUARY
Danelle Jane Kauffman
Heaven opened its gates to welcome Danelle Jane Kauffman home on Tuesday, April 6th after a brief battle with COVID.
Known to most as Dani, she blessed many a choir with her beautiful singing voice. Also known as Bob to her loving, devoted daughter Kimberly; and Mom by her equally loving and devoted son Nate; she is survived by her three siblings Tom, Brian (Jim) and Melinda (Mindy) Simon.
Dani didn't have a mean bone in her body. She loved to laugh and could be counted on to be cheerful and kind to all. She was most happy on a hot, sunny morning sipping coffee amongst family and friends, or when immersed in music. She performed solo and in various choirs, including Shades of Blue, the Grand Rapids Junior College (now Community College) choir, the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre production of The Music Man, Sweet Adeline's, First United Methodist Church choir, and Gethsemane Lutheran Church choir.
She knew the artist and lyrics to virtually any malt shop oldie, and would sing along with perfect pitch and joy in her heart. She also loved and collected music boxes. Dani was a gentle soul who will be missed enormously. In lieu of cards and flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of West Michigan, ASPCA, or another animal welfare organization of your choice.
